Terms of service

Effective August 17, 2026.

The service

Hindsight is a desktop mail, calendar, and task client sold as a subscription. The subscription covers use of the application on computers you own or control, automatic updates, and support. Your mail itself is provided by your mail provider, not by us.

Trial and subscription

• New accounts receive a 30-day free trial with all features enabled. No payment method is required to start.
• When the trial ends without a subscription, the app enters read-only mode: previously synced data remains accessible, but syncing and sending are disabled.
• Subscriptions renew automatically monthly or yearly until cancelled. You can cancel anytime from your account page; access continues to the end of the paid period.
• Payments are processed by Paddle.com as merchant of record. Your purchase is also subject to Paddle’s buyer terms.
• Prices may change; we will email you at least 30 days before a renewal at a new price.

Acceptable use

Don’t use Hindsight to send spam or malware, don’t attempt to circumvent the licensing system, and don’t redistribute the application builds. Use of your mail provider through Hindsight remains subject to that provider’s terms.

Your data

Mail synced by the app lives on your device and is yours. We claim no rights over it and, as described in the privacy policy, we never receive it.

Warranty and liability

The application is provided “as is.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for data loss caused by your mail provider, your hardware, or deletion of local data.

Termination

You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms, with a refund of any unused paid period unless the violation is fraud or abuse.
